I posted a similar message a while ago, and also in the Outlook
newsgroup, but still out of luck. I also googled and found I was not
alone, but no solution yet. As of Microsoft, the only article detailing
a similar situation confirms the problem but doesn't offer any solution

when i first startup three or four different ies try to start and only one
finally does. also when i am on a site it shuts down my connection

When opening up IEEE for the first time of the day, it tells me I'm
off-line, and would I like to try to reconnect..
The re-connected always happens.

My kids played some internet games on my pc, now, whenever I go into IE7  i
get unwanted new internet windows popping  up at various times  with 'ad by
gamevance' in the lower right corner.  Norton, or several other scanners have
