I would like to save a group of favorites (web sites) in a separate file on
my computer, and manage/edit it (adding, sorting, grouping, deleting, etc)
off-line.

Using XP/IE7 and File > Send > Short Cut to Desktop. Click on this Desktop
Short Cut just created, it does not work. Nothing happens.

Why is it that my local drives show up in Internet Explorer?  Is there any
way to stop this from happening?  It clutters up the urls that I use often.

I run a Dutch version of XP SP2 and IEx 7 so some of the translations may not
sound correct. Here goes:  In window internetoptions / temporary
internetfiles and history I select "show objects" (button)  and a window
opens to show the content of the file "downloaded program files" ...

When creating or dragging a URL to the desktop. The Favicon.ico from any site
are not copied/installed.
running Vista Ultimate on a DELL M1730 Laptop(ouch my lap hurts). Current on
