When starting XP home I get a dialogue box titled 'windows internet
explorer'. The text in the box is "-2146697208- the download of the specified
resource has failed".

Good Morning,
I broke down and downloaded and installed IE 7 finally (running XP SP3).  
The issue that I am having is that I cannot navigate by entering addresses
into the address bar.  I enter the address and either hit enter or the

i keep getting a small error dialog box that only says "iexplore" with a red
circle white x and OK. I have Windows XP pro. A new error pops up every 20
seconds or so. Doesn't matter what application i am running or even if
nothing is opened. Nothing seems out of ordinary in Task ...

Not sure if this is an IE question. When I logged in to my online banking
site, I stupidly clicked "Remember this loginID". Now I want to get rid of
that because it interferes with my logging in with a different loginID.
Where are remembered entries stored? I searched the Registry ...

Can anyone tell me why the "Choose a TV Provider" function in the http://tv.msn.com/ web page refuses to accept any input that I provide when using IE7?  I have cookies set to the default settings in IE7.  
At first I thought that perhaps some security setting in ZoneAlarm ...

I recently changed my machine. I previously made a backup of the files in my
old system, but now I have a problem with Favorites in IE7.
BTW, my new system has Windows XP SP2 and IE7, and the old one has been
already formatted :-(

When I attempt to post to this or any MS forum from my laptop, either as a
reply or new question, all that happens is that the main forum page is
reloaded. The reply or new question popup dialog never appears. (I am posting
this from another computer.)

It seems that IE7 totally ignores the value of the "Show image download
placeholders" option. I have unchecked this option and IE still displays
the ugly box with the red X when the referenced image file is missing
instead of only displaying the text specified in the "alt" ...
