This is happening on my husbands computer. He has Windows
ME. I can't reproduce the error at will. It seems to occur
while I am using Internet Explorer and after I have exited
outlook express. I have IE 6.0.

 As of two weeks ago, I've been unable to send emails through my hotmail
account, but I can receive just fine. I made no configuration changes to OE6
or Windows.
I'm running Windows 2000 Pro with the latest service packs and Windows
