Lost use of OE6 when I upgraded to SP231 Aug 2004 01:56 GMT5
I cannot use OE6 since I installed the SP2 update.  I use Outlook and it
works fine.  However, my wife uses OE and I cannot access from desktop or
start menu.  IT tells me there is a login problem, then tells me it is
missing critical files, then tells me it is having problems ...

In Outlook Express 6.0 with Norton AntiVirus 2004 running
on Dell Windows 98 SE machine I can receive email. I can
send email if the recepient has never been in the address
book. If recepient is in the address book or has been in

I'm running Outlook Express under Explorer v.6 and trying
to import my email folders from Netscape 7.1. OE doesn't
recognize them and so won't import them, although it
recognizes email folders from older versions of Netscape.

I'm trying to set up my hotmail account in outlook
express 6, but HTTP is not an option for email server.  I

Does anyone knows if there is some kind of size limit for each .DBX file. I
've lost almost one year of my messages in a OE 6 crash. Now I can't import
from a backup file. My inbox file has almost 2 Gb.

Why doesn't my newsreader get base64 files do I need special software or a
special reader to download these?

I keep trying to use the "Catch Up" feature on a particular newsgroup, but
each time I do, the Folders.dbx file jumps from less than 100kb to over
800megs, and practically shuts down my machine.
Why is the Folders.dbx file affected anyways?  Is it storing all those posts

which I don't understand.

How do you backup an entire email folder not just
individual emails in the folder?  When you compact the
folder, where is the compacted folder stored so you can
copy it to a disc for backup?  I don't get it, anybody??
