Outlook Express 6.0 losing the "Check for new messages every" setting10 Sep 2004 06:40 GMT5

When I set the "Check for new messages every" value (Tools | Options |
General)  (to 10 or 30 minutes) it works fine while I am still in OE.  When
I close OE and reopen it, the setting has changed to 0 minutes, and the

When I opened OE today, the local files I created were
gone.

Since the SP2 was downloaded, my MS Outlook Express does
not open.  It starts with a box and message
"No identity found"- when I select an identity, add my
password it does not recognize it.  Thus I am unable to

I downloaded Mozilla and have used it a couple of months
but would really like to use IE from time to time.  
Unfortunately, my other products seem to think that
Mozilla is the default browser.

In my OE 6 mail files, I find up to 10 copies of each file
made automatically.  If I delete the copies, more copies
are made.  Can this be avoided, or limited to 1 copy?  I am
using Windows XP Professional.

I have the attachment in my email, so i downloaded it and
it asked open file as.. so i put it under Works and when i
went to look at it i just get a bunch of shapes.  How do i
go back and change it so i can see the attachment?

Yesterday all the emails in my Inbox disappeared.  I'm
using Outlook Express version 6 on a Dell.  The emails in
all my other folders in Outlook Express were not affected.

the following message against any attachment"oe removed

The only way I can see my Incoming and Outgoing messages is to maximise the
screen, otherwise the first 2" of the left hand side of the page is off my
screen.
