Helping someone with Windows 98, I created a new Dial Up Networking
icon.  When trying to connect, it starts dialing immediately, does not
prompt
for User Name and Password.  How do I get a prompt for ID & PW?

I know how to block senders via rules but the procedure takes a little
time since it involves my typing in the sender's address. From what I
have heard, it is easier with other news readers than OE. Have I
perhaps missed something and is there a simple way of adding people to

I am trying to use Outlook Express(on my home computer) to read the
newsgroups on Microsoft.com. While trying to look for available
newsgroups(initial configuration) on the Microsoft Web site, Outlook express
gives the error message:
Can't send or recieve emails12 Mar 2005 16:41 GMT13
having problems receiving/sending mail.error message says
The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'smtp', Protocol: SMTP, Port:

Using Outlook Express 6 with the latest patches etc., and having this error
message under the following circumstances:
I've created a PDF form with Adobe Designer Ver 7 that has an email submit
button.  The form is launched from Adobe Acrobat Professional Ver 7 or Adobe

Whenever I send an email, an error window shows up saying "Some errors

New Compaq computer running XP SP2.  When I open Outlook Express, an error
appears saying Outlook Express encountered an error while loading and has to
close down.  I have checked for viruses, uninstalled OE and reinstalled, but
the behavior persists.  What am I missing?

The subject line has happened to a friend. All icons are present but they
are upside down meaning they have to "stand on their heads" to see what's
what.
They've tried rebooting the computer but still upside down.

My company is going away from using email as a storage mechanism.  The
recommended approach is to move email into the pc file system.  When doing
this the subject line becomes the file name.  If you drag multiple email
messages with the same subject line windows modifies the files ...

Does anyone know if I can set up an "out of office auto
reply" in Outlook Express?  I can't find anything in
tools menu that does this.  
If so could you please provide instruction.
