file extension problem17 Aug 2005 15:34 GMT6
There is a folder in Windows 98, C:\Windows\Application Data\[long random
number]\Microsoft\,Outlook Express. The Outlook Express folder apparently
contains the data of all the OE files past and present, such as Drafts,
Sent, Inbox, and various newsgroups I've subscribed to such as ...
PSGuard17 Aug 2005 14:17 GMT14
I am unable to connect with my mail server through OE ever since I was
attacked by what I believe to be the PSGuard virus.  I've tried various
methods to eliminate it from the registry to no avail.  Does anyone know
what to do short of uninstalling/reinstalling OE?
Can list of newsgroups also be exported along with account information?17 Aug 2005 13:26 GMT14
I have created a new identity in OE6 but when I import previous account
information it sets up the account in the new identity but doesn't list the
previously selected newsgroups.  If a server has thousands of newsgroups out
of which 50 or 100 had been selected in the previous ...

Accessing My ISP's News Server Using Another ISP 17 Aug 2005 13:15 GMT2
From home, I use Adelphia for internet access and I use OE6 to access their
news servers. On the road, I sometimes use a Sprint/Sierra AirCard for
internet access. Using the AirCard (or  I guess if I were to use any other
ISP), how can I access the Adelphia news servers?

Tips to cut down spam et al??17 Aug 2005 10:24 GMT20
I'm considering changing my e-mail address, and taking other steps to cut
down the damn spam that loads my mailbox daily. My present numerous mail
rules, and blocked senders aren't sufficient to handle things.
I would keep the old e-mail address until I felt I had covered sending
Unable to Reply NewsPosts After Updates17 Aug 2005 05:37 GMT46
I recently did a clean install of Win2000 Prof SP4 on my machine. I also

However, after I installed all the patches from the Windows Update website,
I am not able to reply to any post on the newsgroups that i have subscribed
Where did my messages go?17 Aug 2005 05:29 GMT5
Using OE as a news reader... every once in a while most of my saved messages are
deleted. I had 9MB of messages in one group and when I visited that group
tonight all but the last 2 days of messages disappeared. After compacting the
9MB file it was 135KB. Why does this happen and ...
Restore user-created folder in OE17 Aug 2005 03:42 GMT2
Awhile back I inadvertantly deleted one of several files I created in OE to
save posts and responses from newsgroups. I'm pretty sure I've located it in
the Outlook Express message storage folder in Windows Explorer. Is there any
way I can bring it back into the OE user interface?
Outlook Express Attachment Problems17 Aug 2005 03:32 GMT6
I will apologize up front if this is a foolish question, as I am an Exchange
2003 rookie. I am having trouble with several pop clients receiving
attachments through an Exchange 2003 server I just installed. This only
happens to Outlook Express clients setup as pop3 to get their ...

Problems with ink pad in OE 617 Aug 2005 01:29 GMT19
I'm having problems with my ink pad in my OE 6 as it keeps going crazy and
changing the colours around, teal shows up as a medium green and grey has
been replaced totally by Olive yet some of the other colours work fine. What
is really frustrating is that it will sort itself out ...

Progress Bar - Can't send mail17 Aug 2005 00:45 GMT2
I have a friend who has OE6 and Win XP home, recently installed. Since
installation she has been unable to send mail. Receive is OK. We have
double-checked SMTP address with ISP, there are no typos.
What actually happens is that when she presses Send And Receive, the
