Outlook Express 6 - Two problems, which may be connected.
Whenever we try to send/receive mail we are prompted for passwords, which we
don't know. I would imagine that we should be able to manage our email/news
group accounts and set/remove passwords, but there is no 'accounts' ...

My New Mail icon doesn't show up on the taskbar, but I hear the ding.  I
went into Taskbar/Customize, it is showing up in "Past Items".  Is there any
way to flip it up to the Current Ones??

Express it says no file type association  even though when it gives

Is Windows Messenger necessary? I don't use it, and it sits there, running,
but not logged in. Is there a way to keep it from running automatically when
OE is opened? What is the point with this feature?

I am printing some emails and I would like that date in the bottom right
corner (the date of printing) to disappear. I don't seem to find any setting
that will do that.

Normally when opening OE you get an Inbox summary screen showing all of the
emails in your inbox (read or unread) with just the Subject line showing. You
would then click on the subject line for the email you want to open to read
etc.

If I get a Powerpoint e-mail attachment (.ppt), I cannot open it by clicking
on it in Outlook Express 6.0.  I get a message that says it's not associated
with a program, and I should fix that in Control Panel/Folder Options/File
Types.   But that association DOES exist
