I know that Hotmail is a weird email with its own proprietary email format,
and that I can only access it with the Outlook Express client, but
lately --- since I switched to an XP box --- I have been having some
problems.

I have an old machine running Win ME and am passing it on after a reformat.
It contains several folders of email messages from people and I'd like to
keep the text of these and transfer them to my current Win XP machine,
eventually making hard copies in Word.

I am using Outlook Express 6.00.  When I run a newsgroup search in my
Outlook Express (Shift +F3) a drop down list presents me with a long list of
past search queries I have no longer need for.  I have tried to find info on
google on how to clear it but was unsuccessful in finding ...

saved as a draft. The so-called 'draft' appears to be saved as a
read-only file.

I just added a new user account to WINDOWS.  Now whenever I use OE and send
an email from a different program through OE, I get the warning ANOTHER
PROGRAM IS ATTEMPTING TO SEND EMAIL on my behalf.
BUT, I already do have OE, TOOLS, OPTIONS, SECURITY, WARN ME IF OTHER

Since comming back from holiday (5 weeks) I instantly did liveupdate NAV 2005.
Now without turning my personal firewall off I cannot send or recieve any
mail in OE6. I've followed a trouble shooting guide from Symantec to reset
the firewall back to default but still no luck.
