Every so often I cannot log into the dial-up connection because 'connect
automatically' has become unticked.  However, my password has become much
longer and, when I tick 'connect automatically' and 'connect' it logs in
without a problem.

 I've had an idiot attack !! I tried to view a .dbx file outside of O.E.6
and wound up associating all my .DBX files with Outlook Express.EXE
 I can still download and view my outlook express mail but I don't know

I use OE as a news reader *only* and have not set up a mail account in
OE.  For mail, I use netscape 7.2.  After using OE news for several
months without problems, suddenly I'm having multiple problems with

I "moved" my OE 5.5 (Win 98SE) to OE 6 (Win XP) on another pc.  Mostly,
everything is now okay.  However, the address book is somewhat messed up.
The four identities have different address book info but all seem to be

My Dad uses OE and is having the following problem: When he replies to
messages in his Inbox, the message he replied to is deleted. (It still
exists in his Sent Items folder.) I've searched on possible causes but
can't find anything obvious. I had him turn off his virus checker in

I posted this question a few days ago but I don't seem to be able to find it
again so apologies if anyone has tried to answer it befoe.
The problem is that when I try to send mail in Outlook Express 6 I get the

MSWord and other applications (like from IE).

Almost every time I try to open my Inbox it does not show. I don't have
the same problem when I go to Sent Items. Sometimes when I go back to
Inbox I can then view the messages but usually I have to restart the
computer several times before I can view my inbox!

With my new PC I am unable (as in the past)  to forward a post from a newsgroup (or even when it is on my harddrive) to someone in mail.
I get the message:
