Send/Receive in Outlook Express has suddenly slowed to a crawl.  Anyone have
ideas?

The deleted items folder is not emptying on shutting down with the
maintenance option selected.  I have tried deleting the dbx file, but this
makes no difference.

When I receive mail with an attachment, I have a message that says:

My father-in-law can't send file, word, or picture attachments with Outlook
Express 6 on an XP machine.
He can send via his Hotmail account, but not through his Sympatico account.

Have a brand new computer.  Can export address book from a nearly new
notebook (WIN XP, OE6) to floppy or CD easily (Address Book, export, address

OE6 opens fine.  It reads new mail fine.  It reads new newsgroup messages
fine.
It will not send anything.  It just sits there until it tells me it isn't
