I try to import messages to OE and it doesn't seem to matter which computer

I've had a problem with newsgroup messages and fixed it by cleaning and
resetting the folders.
This however created an other problem:
OE does not connect and checking for mail automatically anymore.

I am having problems like 2 or 3 days ago with OE, always i want to download
the folders for my hotmail account i get this message:  The Service is
Currently Unavailable. Try again later.
Service Unavailable

When I click on the paperclip it pops up the attachments
but they are shaded gray and when I click on them nothing
happens. It was working fine until I did a windows update.
When I ran the update it upgraded my outlook express and

Is some one can tell me about how can use outlook express more?

I have OE6 and I wish to change how the date is shown on my received emails
including the receipt. I get the month shown before the day e.g 09/10/2006 I
prefer it as 10/09/2006 can anyone assist with this email problem.

I have no problem opening attachments in outlook express as have unticked
the security restriction in options. My friend has Microsoft Outlook and I
was interested if the same restriction is applied to that program as she
can't open her attachments.

and what must I do to begin being able to download messages into OE again.
The messages are there on the hotmail webpage but won't download into OE.

I have a Windows 98SE computer that has a purple square covering about half of the "send/receive"
icon in the OE6 tool bar.
I can't repair IE6 from the add/remove applet in the control panel.  Error message tells me to
reinstall.  However, the IE6 install CD does not work because ...

All my E-Mails arrive with the paper clip, but there is no attachment. When
I send a test E-mail to myself with no attachment, it arrives with the paper
clip.
What to do?

Is there a way to do a partial restore of backed up OE saved folders?  I
have 4 identities, and three are fine, one seems to have lost it's saved
folders (as I mentioned in a slightly earlier post) I would like to restore
only that identities' saved msgs.
