I just reinstalled my Win XP, and I'm trying to get back to where I was
before I started.
One problem I'm having is that now when I open OE 6.0 I'm asked for a
password. I did not ask to be password protected in OE.

I have a problem with my OE, message I send out state in the outbox,
but the message is successfully send. so others will receive double or
triple when I re-press send and receive
I try del the outbox, compact the outlook express, create new account

Regarding my post 10\8\06  sound not playing in some emails received.
Found the problem in Control Panel,Sound and Audio Devices, Audio.
Selected in Midi Music Playback, Microsoft GS WaveTable SW Synth.

After installing patch 911567 I got the address book corrupt message.  
Following the MS instructions, I uninstalled 911567.  I saved a copy of the
.wab file and then deleted the default.wab files.  Now I open outlook express
and click on address book and I get the following ...

Not sure what happened, but I can no longer delete any email messages whether
they are in  the In box, Sent box of Deleted box.  I can go into the system
folders and delete the folder from there, but when an email comes in, I
cannot delete it.  I have scanned for viruses ... none ...

Evreytime I select the  "empty" or the Delete icons in junk mail folder it
hangs. This does not occur inthe Inbox, or in individual junk mail messages.
I have installed all security patches. Any suggestions?

I haven't been paying much attention to this program, but is this
supposed to be the successor to Outlook Express 6 for XP users?  Every time
I saw Windows Live Mail Beta mentioned, I figured it was for Vista only.

This just started.  When I receive an email that has a link to a web page,
the cursor will turn to the hand recognizing the text as a link, but when I
click on the link (single or double) the page will not open.  I have tested

Pictures & attachments are being lost or dropped when I receive them yet it
tells me I am over my limit on space

Suddenly all my "sent messages" have disappeared. I didn't delete them. I
have up to date virus software and several firewalls. This is the first time
this has happened. I am running windows xp and MS OE6.

I need help with using draft email icons saved on the desktop. I had
saved a few email drafts which I use everyday on my desktop. And one
fine day after some Windows Update, they failed to open in the draft
form. There is no send button when I open the email to actually send it

When I try to open a new message in OE6 the application just closes - there
is no error message, nothing. It just shuts down.
I've tried de- and reinstalling OE and IE (separately and together) and it
still happens. I've found a few mentions of it on the web, so it's not just

I sent some pictures attached to a regular e-mail, and the recipient said
there was the icon of eyeglasses "the conversation is watched".  But that's
a NewsGroup icon.  Any idea why that icon would be there?
