OE6 crashed while compacting my folders. After restarting, I found that: a) 942 .dbx files were truncated to the empty size (59 or 137 KB) b) 176 .dbx files remained the same size, but were trashed to all-00 hex bytes

I only need one identity in my OE. I named it with my name. But when I close OE and re-open it, a new identity, 'Profil1' comes up and automatically opens all new emails. I delete it, but it keeps comimg back. So I deleted 'My name' identity, and changed 'Profil1' to 'My name'. ...

I use OE6 as a newsreader only. I run WinXP Pro with AVG as my av. I don't use the newsgroups very much so I don't know how long this has been happening, but OE6 automatically subscribes me to any newsgroup I visit, even if I only download the headers, I'm not telling it to ...

Is there anyway, in Outlook 2003, to disable the automatic e-mail preview? The problem is in my reluctance, to the opening of messages I would rather not even receive.

I am using Vista RC1 with IE 7 installed. The IE 7 blog says that the next version of outlook express will ship with "next" release of windows. However its missing from my Vista installation. On search of internet only outlook express of IE 6 is available.

I read in PC World about MS's utility "Lookout" for searching in Outlook files. MS's web site says it works with "Microsoft Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002, or Outlook 2003 must be installed on your computer"- so I presume it doesn't work with Outlook Express, or does it?
