OE6 crashed while compacting my folders.
After restarting, I found that:
a) 942 .dbx files were truncated to the empty size (59 or 137 KB)
b) 176 .dbx files remained the same size, but were trashed to all-00 hex bytes

I only need one identity in my OE. I named it with my name. But when I close
OE and re-open it, a new identity, 'Profil1' comes up and automatically
opens all new emails. I delete it, but it keeps comimg back. So I deleted
'My name' identity, and changed 'Profil1' to 'My name'. ...

I use OE6 as a newsreader only. I run WinXP Pro with AVG as my av. I don't
use the newsgroups very much so I don't know how long this has been
happening, but OE6 automatically subscribes me to any newsgroup I visit,
even if I only download the headers, I'm not telling it to ...

Is there anyway, in  Outlook 2003, to disable the
automatic e-mail preview? The problem is in my
reluctance,  to the opening of messages I would
rather not even receive.

Lately, I've been getting this error from OE6 SP2 on a regular basis:
msimn.exe: The exception unknown software exception (0x00000008) occurred in
the application at location 0x7c964ed1.
This error doesn't seem to have anything to do with what I'm doing at that

Am I the only one receiving multiple false "replies" by a poster called
"wierd"?  (His spelling.....)   E.g. see the post by "mikeV" 11|3|2006.

I am getting lots of spam email where the content of the message is an image
and below that, random text that makes no sense.  As an example:

Rohypnol Salvia Divinorum a san Pedro stp am.

In OE 6, when I open a message from two different people, I get a script
error
Internet Explorer Script Error 'hoverEdit' is undefined
when I move the mouse over the message. I tried disabling script debugging

have accidentally restored from back up twice so that I have one of each

In my Outlook express when I am reading new messages, and if I open a link,
automaticly the windows internet explorer that is open is replaced with the

I am using outlook express 6.
I constantly getting a pop up from OE6 stating that there is no identity
currently logged on.  The pop up looks just like the log on screen when you
open the OE program.  It is really annoying because it interrupts whatever

I am using Vista RC1 with IE 7 installed. The IE 7 blog says that the next
version of outlook express will ship with "next" release of windows. However
its missing from my Vista installation.
On search of internet only outlook express of IE 6 is available.

Just upgraded to XP Home with many problems and am finding solutions to most.
When I open my mail everything seems OK. I am set up to check mail manually.
All my previous contacts are still im my list. Before when we switched
identies, the contact list stayed the same for all ...

I read in PC World about MS's utility "Lookout" for searching in Outlook
files. MS's web site says it works with "Microsoft Outlook 2000, Outlook
2002, or Outlook 2003 must be installed on your computer"- so I presume it
doesn't work  with Outlook Express, or does it?
