Last night we lost about 2000 Outlook Express email messages from our Inbox
(only).  The lost messages were only from the last six months (specifically
from 7/24/06 thru 1/19/07) of the Inbox.  The loss was, I think, at about

return to the computer, I have lost my connection and there is an error

Several months ago I experienced loss of Outlook Express  messages due
to corruption of DBX files. I was able to recover most messages using
DBXpress and DBXtend, saving the recovered messages to a folder outside
of OE.

For past year, on my WinXP, OE 6 has worked off and on, so i usually use my
servers email. Recently upgraded to IE 7.0, and now oE won't open at all,
says it has a missing msoe.dll. The MS Instant Messenger worked, I haven't
tried it lately, as my teens use another iM. My PC ...

For some strange reason compacting folders now takes longer because Outlook
Express is making a backup copy of all of my folders and placing them into

Regardless of the extention on any photo attachment to an email I  receive
over Outlook Express, when I try to open it is says it is a "PV8.image" and
will not open. Why is this happeneing?  I have done nothing to change my
