I have tried everything I know but cannot create an icon for Outlook Express

I have AVG 7.5 and OE6 on my desktop machine and it works fine. On my laptop
I have a recurring problem.
When attempting to update, AVG reports that it cannot translate the server
name to an IP address. At the same time Outlook Express fails to collect

Can someone advise on this recent problem.
Frequently, but not always, can't log onto e-mail

In Outlook, when you want to clear a portion of text in an e-mail
before sending, you just highlight it and check "clear."  How is that
done in Outlook Express?  I can "cut" the text and put it in the
clipboard, but don't see how to just clear it.

I'm trying to assist an elderly neighbor with a one-month old Dell {WinXP
Home/OE6}.  Today, she completely lost her entire Toolbar.  When I go to

While OE is doing its compacting routine, sometimes (but not
always) a little window pops up saying "Copying".  Does anyone
know what exactly is being copied, and where the copy is kept?

I recently added my sons address onto my addresses, he is a user on my
computer as well. In my logon screen I now have 66 msgs from hm.  However he
hasn't sent them and I have no unread msgs when I log in. Can any one help.

My wife's computer has lost the toolbar functionality for OE 6.  There are
no icons and I can not restore the icons.
She has Win XP Pro with all updates,  IE 7, and OE 6.  She also has a third
party spam filter from EZ Anti Spam with its own toobar that is working
