IE6 SP1 is installed on win2000 prof system. cannot open
another window with "open in new window" and when
using "javascript:open_win(.....)" an error report is
generated.  This happens on every web page visited.  Does

How can I remove IE6 SP1 as my default browser and use

When I click a hyperlink, the resulting window will open
but will not load. I have tryed opening the link via right
click, open link and open link in new window. In addintion
I have restored all IE's defaults and checked the settings.

My son has advised me to add a hardware type of firewall/router since I
started using a cable connection. What is a good brand and do they really
work? I tried the software that came with McAfee and found that it was a
pain to use.

I recently tried to update windows with the auto-update
option. I clicked "Scan for Updates" When I did the error
(0x800A138F) came up. This is the message it gave me:

When a frame document is used with an embedded form.  The
auto complete selections appear to get misplaces on the
screen.  The same page viewed in IE 5.5 looks ok but in
6.0 SP1 they are incorrect.

I have a new Dell Inspiron 8500 notebook.  IE 6 doesn't
display .jpeg or .gif images properly -- they are blurry
and pixillated.  This has been happening since initial
system setup.

It often happens that pressing the 'Esc' key on the keyboard or navigating to View--->Stop in the menu bar doesn't stop a web page from downloading; the page still goes on downloading in IE6.0? Why so? Could it be the programmatic handiwork of the website creator?

Stability/file verification issues:  install fresh ver of
