Enabling JAVA on IE16 Sep 2004 01:12 GMT1
I am getting errors indicating that JAVA and HTML ?? are
not active on my browser.  How do I enable those feature?

In the hope of having this catch the eye of someone who would know, I have
re-posted. Forgive my impatience if you will.
A quasi-weird question here. Where are the updates for IE6 SP-1 stored? With
W98 are they placed somewhere in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer ? In

After installing a fresh copy of XP, i've found that I
cannot open or save any .exe files from a web page - a
windows update for example.

I have windows xp    the last week or so when I work with

In my Internet Options, under the Privacy tab I have
sellected the "Low" option to allow all cookies. Yet when
my wife tries to access the e-mail site I have set up for
her, through my ISP the message that my Browser is not

When I open web sites I get a message that Active X cannot run because of
too high security settings.
When I click ok on the message box, to clear it, the web page crashes.
How can I stop this?

For all users other than me, the IE 'Open in new window'
option no longer works.  Also, clicking certain links
does nothing, and clicking links inside Outlook does

HELP!  My browser is showing random hypertext links on all
webpages I visit.  Words that shouldn't have hypertext are
now highted and underlined.  When I click on these links I
am taken to another webpage which shows me results of a

Trying to help a friend who has plenty of memory and disk space.
Running Win 2K with all the patches.
Has Norton AV, Win Doctor and all the goodies. Have run Spybot,
Adaware, TDS-3 Trojan finder, CWShredder, Regclean (not MSFT) to show

iexplorer.exe/msnmgr.exe/wmplayer/ddxdllreg has
called/performed an illegal function in dxtrans.dll
followed by closure of the respective program.  Prior to
