Won't run wanted pop-up pages & Worse15 Sep 2004 14:50 GMT3
I am not able get popup windows to work (from links etc.),
but I still get ad pop-ups.  I tried to install SP2 and it
completely messed up my display-it is set on the lowest
resolution and 4 bit color and I cannot adjust it.  I am

I run IE6 sp1 with the latest cumulative patch on a Win2k
pro sp4 box.
Regarding the latest MS security patch that deals with the
jpeg vulnerablity....I downloaded and ran the GDI detector

Apparently my family upgraded the version of internet
exploerer while I was out of town on business. Now when I
use it, I receive a home page 'makemesearch.com'. If I
change my home page, the next time I launch Explorer it

Hello.  I have Windows XP and for the past few months
when I am using IE 6, I can't keep the favorites column
showing while I am browsing.  It keeps switching
to "search" mode, as if I had pushed the search button.

Here's the problem with the browser:
Even though the settings have been changed to "Check for
newer versions of stored pages - every visit to the
page"... it's not doing this.  Behavior is such that a

After installing SP2 my IE no longer allows:
- ftp-ing
- viewing of jpg files
- downloading of *.exe files

After some time of browsing iexplorer "suddenly" takes 100% cpu load.
I have not found out what triggers this behaviour.
Anyone has an idea of why and what may be done as cure ?

If I change the page margins in IE 6,(Office XP, Windows XP, all fully
patched up) with the top margin as 51mm, close the dialogue box, and
immediatlyey re-open it the margin has been re-set to 70.79 mm

Hello, Can some kind person tell me how to fix this.

I'm just now switching over from Netscape to IE.
I have imported my favourites and often want to view more
than one favourite site at a time.  In Netscape, I could
right click on a link and open it "in a new file/browser"
