Stop IE6 (SP2) from refusing to download!08 Nov 2004 00:39 GMT2
How can I turn this feature off? If I have opted to download a file I really
don't want IE to override. Clicking and selecting "Download" is getting old. I
have reset any options I could find. What did I miss?

I use a dial-up connection.  Lately, when I first launch IE after a reboot,
two additional IE windows are launched which take me to a porn site and a
random ad site.  The original window I launched always goes to my home site.

The view HTML source command in the 'View' menu on the toolbar is not working

I am running Windoes XP 2 and IE6 with all of the updates.
When I try to install a program directly from the site by
selecting the "Run" option, I get a box saying
"Internet Explorer-security warning.

I don't know what happened, but the last week or so links within hotmail
messages in the MSIE browser no longer work.  For example, I get the daily
NY Times headlines and when I go to click on an article, they don't work any

With several IE webs open, one with a .pdf. When I close the pdf web I get a
window indicating "IE has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to

If I try to send a link to a web site by email, Netscape starts up even
though it is not configured as my default mail or web browser. In fact
Groupwise is listed as my default email service in I.E. What's up with that?

When i click a .pgn file in IE6 it opens it (as text). I want another
program to open the file. .pgn was not in Windows Explorer | Tools |
Folder Options | File Types, so I made a new file type and associated
it with the other program.

When I'm browsing normally, I can't go more than like 5-10 minutes before the
browser just freezes up on me.  I've tried clearing all my cookies and temp

Big problem here, I have win xp home installed on my compaq computer, s4040se.
internet explorer working good, but as soon I install SP2, IE opens, then
inmediatly closes just before displaying the web site, i tried diferents web
sites by default with same result.

Ever since installing Win SP2, I have been getting the above error on a web
page I access regularly.  I have tried disabling the SP2 pop up blocker,
resetting my scripting settings for IE6 but still no luck.  This website
worked just fine until I installed SP2.  I'm running Java ...

I don't know exactly how it happened, but, for whatever reason, I think that
I may have screwed up my Javascript, or something.
For example, when I roll my mouse over the 'Forum', 'Login', 'Join',
'About', and 'Contact' buttons at http://www.talkwichita.com/, I no longer
