IE backs out of window17 Dec 2004 10:22 GMT1
When I'm in an IE window typing something it will "kick me out", like I
clicked outside of the window.  The top bar turns light colored indicating
that I'm not "in" that window.  This happens a lot when I'm not clicking
anywhere, just typing in a form or something.  AAAHH..it ...

Yahoo and a few other websites are displaying banner ads (Walmart -
this week) on their main pages that appear almost full screen for a
several seconds before allowing you to proceed. Is there a way to block
this type of web page animation through IE settings?

How do I configure XP Home to bypass the sign-on/password window?  I have
tried every option in User Accounts and have had no positive results. I have
selected no password, but the box still comes up and I have to select "OK" to
continue to the desktop.

Weirdly my net hangs after a while so that only one browser window
(iexplorer 6) works. If I  have the exactly same url on two browser windows,
then only one of them is working while the other states "Page not found" as
if there is no internet connection at all. Then a few minutes ...

To allow the "good" cookies,
In IE6 I am using the Privacy tab, (Tools,Internet Options,Privacy)
Under the box, "Web Sites"  I click Edit,
Then under, Per site Privacy Actions, it says to type the exact address.

How do I restore IE as default browser?  "Internet Explorer should check..."
has been checked in Programs of Internet Options.  However, it didn't prompt
for setting default browser at the time of launching IE.  Is there something
wrong?  I'm using IE6 on XP Pro SP2.  Thanks.

I'm am not to familiar the function of caches; and have three questions
about it.
1) Where can I find personal educational information about "caches" from a
reputable website? (tried searching MS.com and can't find anything?)

I've recently reinstalled Windows Xp (SP2) and when I've tried to change the
search settings I just can't find anything else besides MSN. To make it clear:
- I click on the 'Search' button in IE and then click on Customize and then

Whenever I download a large file (or any file), my IE6 browser first seems
to dl it to a temp file in the cache, and then copies it to the directory
that I chose in the first place.  Is there any way to download directly to
the folder I want it in without the cache and temp files ...

I took someone's advice on one of these MS NGS and removed ZoneAlarm 5 from
my PC/w WXP-homeSP2 and the IE problems ceased.  I did have the XP firewall
disabled since I liked ZoneAlarm better.  This seems to be a known problem
with WXP SP2 & ZoneAlarm5.

Ok here's the jist of it. I can access webpages for a few minutes after I
boot up. After that, IE takes a dive and can not access any web pages. Most
other functions that use the connection (t1) work, ie - Outlook, Yahoo

usually pops up at the bottom of ie no longer does? What's wrong here, and
