Some web sites I use have a login page that has the "secure (https)" option. Everytime I visit that page I have to remember to click on "secure" before logging in. I'm afraid someday I may forget and send my password as plain text.

Have sat here all morning reading other messages. Have tried all posted "helps" and nothing is working. There are about a dozen web sites I can no longer get to. working on xp-home-sp2,desktop PC, my son is working on xp-home-sp1, laptop.

Can anyone give me any insight as to why my IE 6 gets about 1 or 2 seconds into downloading a page when I get the message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". The same problem hits RealPlayer and system restore.

Installed new HD, all's well, except the Favorites botton doesn't list my favorites anymore. I found them on the HD in a folder: how do I reincorporate that whole list back again under the Favorites button? Thanks!

On XP SP2 the webbrowser control doesn't allow access to items in special folders like 'Control Panel' (click is disabled). On W2K you can access all items in special folders via an embedded webbrowser control !
