my IE's home page options are all grayed out (unavailable)- address bar, 'use
current', 'use default', 'use blank'. how do i get them back. tia

When creating  a desktop shortcut from either MSNBC or ESPN it places their
logo as the icon.  How do I go about accomplishing the same thing for the
site I host?  Can you refer me to a link for instructions?

I have a small network at home (2 computers) and on one of them I was
infected with the bargain buddy spyware.  Using ad-Aware & Spybot I removed
the offending items but the machine still tries to load an activeX component
when I go to google.  I'm using XP Home SP2 with popup ...

When I click on the IE icon, my cursor goes to the busy icon for a few
seconds and then returns to the normal icon. IE6 never starts (opens). I
checked the task manager and IE is not running. I have uninstalled, and
re-installed IE with no luck. Downloaded SP2 a few months ago ...

access to three websites:

recently , whenever i open a link in a new window, the link opens ok but is
only part screen.Before, it used to open fullscreen.Is there a setting
somewhere that i'm missing?on WinXP

Im not sure what has been done to the system, supposedly nothing, but you
know how that goes.  It is an XP box, and I've recently put SP2 and other
updates on it to no effect.  When certain web pages are opened, carrats ( > )
show up next to where the links are, the color scheme ...

I have had a few company laptops come in for repairs that cannot use the net.
Some can get online as admin in safe mode, but none can get online normally.
TCP/IP looks ok but cant be uninstalled in case of corruption.
Im just wondering if anyone has any leads as to why this is ...

I'm trying to block the users in my network from Uploading files through
webmail like: Hotmail and Yahoo.
Is there any way to do it? can't find it in the security policies or throgh
the firewall becuase we still want to give the internet access.

when in explorer i used to be able to move the corsor over to the left and
the favs listing would appear, and would appear each time i went over to the
left, now when i exit explorer and bring explorer up again the faves do not
appear automaticaly i have to click the fav button ...

I'm new to this message board but I've tried everything I know so here goes -

My problem is that when I connect to a page it appears and then disappears.  
This is not true all the time but enough to drive me crazy.  For example - -

An accidental setting of Yahoo! as my default search engine has prevented me
from using the IE6 customizable search functions. In fact, the search window
will not even load.
Any suggestions.

we´ve installed the KB889293 patch and now we have the problem that the
internet-explorer frezzes when calling an external link.
We already checked if antivirus software was running during installation and
also re-registered the necessary dlls.

Whenever I try to load a secure site, I get this message box saying - "This
page contain both secure and non-secure items.  Do you want to display the
non-secure items?".
I noticed this message only after I added a logo onto the site.  Before that
