On a new XP install the registry was backed up before anything else was installed. What good is it to export the registry if you import it and it does not change / delete the hi-jacked entries in the registry?

I need to give a written report on my bandwidth speed to my ISP. The fastest I'm getting lately is 12.5 Kbps. That isn't any good for a 45.- per month DSL charge is it?. They mentioned to try a DSL Modem something, I think they mentioned turning it off. If I turn it off every ...

I am a support technician. A user had an issue with Sametime meetings and I tracked it to the fact that IE6 would not check to see if it was default. I tried forcing it to do so, tried reinstalling and finally used the IE Fix tool off the MVPS site. Finally as a last ditch effort ...

| Temporary Internet Files growing out of control. | 06 Dec 2004 15:47 GMT | 9 |
I have the size of the Temporary Internet Files in IE6 running under Windows Me to use no more than 400 MB of disk space. However, it looks like that is being ignored, and the Temporary Internet Files is now bloated to about 2 gigs in size. Even 2 year old web pages are still ...

| Can't browse without typing "http://" | 06 Dec 2004 15:29 GMT | 5 |
Okay, weird problem here. On two of our systems, we cannot simply type the URL such as "www.microsoft.com". We actually have to type an "http://" prefix. If we just type "www.microsoft.com" then basically nothing happens when we hit [Enter] or the ->Go button.
