After applying the MS04-040 update to Win2000 & WinXP SP1 PCs, all IE
shortcuts on the desktop stopped working.  IE opens a blank page then
freezes.  Starting IE and typing the URL in the address pane manually works
fine.

 I've set IE's security setting to prevent all ActiveX controls from
running or downloading, thus, almost every time IE open a new page, it will

I have XP Home and OE6, and on cable broadband.
My surfing of the Net is OK in terms of downloading web pages for viewing.

  We are going to upgrade user system with XP Sp2 but MY Internet
application behaves very differently with sp2.

on a link within an e-mail it does not always open a new window.  I would

Just came back from vacation and can't get into Explorer. Don't even know
what version I was using. Am in Windows 98 and all I get is the fatal error
message and I have to go to the vendor for help. How in the world do I
reload my Explorer????
