I can open .pdf files that are saved on my computer with Adobe Acrobat, but when selecting a .pdf file off of a website, a white page is displayed, and eventually it says, "program not responding". I've tried lowering the ratings and security settings, but that has not worked. ...

I think that I have picked up some sort of bit of ad-aware or scum ware. The last time I did a restart I found a bunch of commercial shortcuts on my desktop and now every time I run IE 6 I find words and parts of words on the web pages I visit have become hyper links.

my IE 6 seems to have been attacked by the mysearch parasite. it has a search bar at the top which cannot be removed, and my homepage is set to //mysearchnow.com. There is nothing related to 'mysearch' in my add/remove programs list, and i have run both norton and adaware.

I don't get website sounds on at least one site. I do hear this site on another computer. I'm assuming it is some option setting but can't figure out which. My Multimedia setting are clicked off to play sounds, animation and videos. What else could it be?

IE insist on opening PDF inside IE (not in a separate Adobe Reader window). When I unchecked "Display in brower" in Adobe Reader there is still no separate window, instead there is a "broken image" in IE :-(
