This has been puzzling me because I have two machines with the same version of the operating system (Win XP Pro SP2) and the same version of IE (6) and the same version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.01). I can open .pdf files in Internet Explorer on one machine but not the other. ...

My parents Dell xp computer will not run ie6. When I click on ie link, the desktop refreshes and thats it. I tried http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378 and I still get the "newer version" msg. They upgraded from ME, When I run sfc /scannow the program just ends

I am running Win 98SE. Windows update scans my system and recommends updating critical update 823559, even though i have downloaded it a dozen times, apparently successfully. Can someone point me to a fix? TIA

Maybe I am missing something obvious, but can anyone tell me how I copy to the clipboard, the filename of any file that I can see and select in the right pane of a Windows Explorer display, so that I can subsequently paste that filename into a document?

How can I reset IE's download options? For instance, when I click on a zip file link on a page, it opens the file in WinZip. I want it to download the file instead. Yes, I know about right-clicking. That's not what I'm looking for.

I was trying to copy an email address from IE6. So, as usual, I highlighted, right clicked, and noticed that in the menu that pops up, the option that once read 'Delete' now reads 'Power Search.' If anyone's interested, here's what I see with something highlighted
