I get the following error msg from IE when I try to access www.microsoft.com,
but this works fine when uing my AOL browser.  Can anyone help me with this?

When I try to use history with Internet Explorer on my computer it does not
work.  I only get a folder labeled history with a filed named index.dat
inside.  There is also an icon labeled desktop that appears as well.  I can
never find and revisit any of the sites I have visited ...

I have just run windows update and there are no updates for my computer.

happens is that MSN IM immediately logs me out and attempts to log back in.  
This login usually fails and I cannot log in until I leave the newsgroup.

Whenever i open my website with IE6 the animated gif file on the page
displays as a bitmap and therefore it does not animate.  Whenever I do this
same thing on my laptop, everything works fine..  Is there a setting which
causes IE6 to display gif files as bitmaps, or what can I ...

Why I am getting " You are not authorized to view this page" for the
most mundane download pages, e.g. Lexmark driver download etc?
Maybe something I have done wrong in the IE6 security setting ?

 I have a strange problem. I cannot open any site in Internet Explorer. But
my yahoo messenger is working and netscape is working. I upgraded IE, no use.
I restore all the settings of IE to default, no use. I am running on XP Prof.
What could be the problem.

After SP2, I can surf maybe a couple of pages, then "Page cannot...". The
computer shows I'm still connected, however, I pick up my phone and dial
tone!!! Can I uninstall SP2 without to much damage or am I better off
restoring my machine?

I have a web application that is designed to run in the intranet zone
and one of the features involves modifying an excel file on the local
machine using an ActiveX control and then launching it in inside a
browser frame. All this worked fine until the latest version of IE came
