IE will no longer open on my computer. Whenever I click on it it
automatically generates an error message and shuts the window down. This is
true for shortcut and start menu. It is not a problem with the e-mail
connection. Can anyone help?

For over a year when I type in a search on yahoo, I used to get the results
on that window and then when I clicked any of the results they used to open
in a new window.
Which was very handy coz if they weren't of any use I could just close

In windows nt, i have configured the "use automatic configuration command
sequence" option, to control whether to let users access vpn local pages, and
to ask login and password to access external pages, but when i fisrt open IE
with a local start page, it asks for proxy ...

I think I've picked up a virus.  Here's what happens:
1) I'll be on the net and I'll click a link or enter some data and click on
"continue' or whatever...all of a sudden I'm taken to a totally different web
page that has nothing to do with the page I was just on.

Now when I put my mouse cursor on a link and look at the bottom of my screen,
it shows only "shortcut to ????.htm."  It used to give me the full URL.  How

Whenever I try and test a couple of my websites, in which there are
java-based slideshows amongst other things, I get a security warning and am

I have Windows 98 and Windows XP computer and they both have a NIC cards and
they are connected to a router and I have ran the network wizard on my
Windows XP and it works fine when I copy the wizard to a disk and ran it

When I click a link on a website that initiates a pop up window, the window
appears but doesn't load the page it just stays black no error message or

I am writing a tiny bookmarklet to read the text on webpages using MS Speech
SDK 5.1. It works fine on local pages on my computer, but it seems that the
"new ActiveXObject" line won't execute on webpages on the net and thus render
my bookmarklet useless. What can I do to get ...
