Cannot get to secure sites20 Apr 2005 20:37 GMT5
Out of nowhere my wifes machine cannot access any secure server.  I do not
see any reaon for this.  I have run adware, spybot, and microsofts
antispyware program and it has not helped.
Also I cannot access the windows update site.

I am having problem to open a link of HP web-site from my home computer which
has Windows XP-SP2 and IE 6.0 but same web-site does open from another PC
which has Windows-2000 and IE 6.0
I tried with following things but couldn't get success

When trying to follow a link that opens a new window nothing happens and IE
stops responding.
In safe mode however things work as expected.

My system frequently hangs when I close an IE window which was opened by
clicking a link from another window. The entire system, not just IE hangs and
I can't even do ctrl-alt-del to bring up the Task Manager. I end up having to

I downloaded and installed the latest Java 1.5.0.2. Dos recognizes this as
the installed version, as does Mozilla 7.0 But all tests done with IE6

or go slows, and or crashes, and message internet explorer not responding.
Many times I enter a page which really uses java, the page hangs and crashes.

I'm using Internet Explorer 6 (latest version with 128bit high
encryption) on WinXP SP2 machine and whenever I try to connect to a
particular web service offered from my bank I get this error (this
doesn't happen when I use a Win2000 machine):

I am on WINS 2000 and IE-6. The animated GIFs came out on the page are never
smooth showing and kind of blinking from 1 frame to the other and so on. I
still can see it but kind of annoying.
