a program has taken control of my internet and windows explorer and has added
a tool bar which I am unable to remove as the "toolbar" is not changable.  It
shows up a a search toolbar and whenever I click the remove toolbar button it
puts me through to a scan/adware advertisement ...

I have a question about a popup that apere when I start IE.
Sometimes the popup apere and sometimes it does'nt.. I have searched for spy
whares and I have checked if I have any viruses. But nothing is wrong. Only

i have the following problem:
the internet explorer does not recognize the exe extension in
downloads, if there are url parameters. All other extensions works
fine.

I have lost the history links in the left pane in IE. When clicking on
history
button in toolbar, the only thing showing up the the left pane are
two files, desktop.ini and index.dat. No dated folders with visited links.

I installed IE6 SP1. Clicking Mail-->Read Mail on the IE toolbar has no
effect.  However, I can get into Outlook Express 6 by clicking on the mail
icon on the Quick Launch toolbar.  
When I click on Mail-->New Message on the IE toolbar, I get a dialog box

Often I change my View/Text Size from "medium" to "larger" but later when I
restart IE6 the setting is lost and reverts to the original medium.
This happens even when I makes sure all other windows of IE6 are closed so
that (presumedly) my setting will be saved.
