I just bought a new computer. And it has internet explorer 6.0. Shouldn't it

Background: I am running windows XP Pro SP2 and window update report no
available updates, so I am assuming I have a completly updated OS. AVG free
is always running, and was installed ages prior to this problem surfacing. MS
Office 2002 recently installed curtousy of HUP.

The home computer is used by two separate users, my wife and my 6 year old. I'm

One of our Senior Group Members is having problems with Internet Explorer,
she is using Windows 2000.
I advised her to run the Repair Tools for IE but when she went into
Add/Remove Programs IE is not listed there.

What is the simplest way I can specifically block Com.org from hijacking my
browser? I have a download limit so I can't install ten or fifteen browser
cleaners, I only want to interrupt Com.org from appearing whenever I type a
