I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW COMPUTER WITH WINDOWS XP. WHEN I RECEIVE EMAILS WITH PICTURES, THE IMAGES ARE REPLACED WITH A RED X IN EACH BOX WHERE PICTURE SHOULD APPEAR. WHAT DOES THIS RED X MEAN? DO I HAVE TO ACTIVATE A CERTAIN PROGRAM SO THAT THIS IS CORRECTED? THANKS.

I'm using IE6 in XP-Pro and I have a problem with "Use smooth scrolling" in the Advanced Options becoming unchecked after a reboot. It works fine during any current session, even closing and reopening IE6. But as soon as I reboot, it becomes unchecked again.
