Hi I am running Java platform 2, IE6 and Windows XP with service pack 2.  
Whenever I run a Java Applet it works great until I want to shut it down -

Was handed an xp home laptop, patches and anti-virus up to date. Was told
nothing was installed. When loading IE, it loads ebay and immediately gives

Can someone give me a quick overview of the "Temporary" Internet Files
(that stick around for years) and sub-directories that are safe to delete?
What do filenames such as "[20]" refer to? Can all those just be dumped
without consequences? If not, why are they "temporary"?

Just started getting Pop-up ads in IE6 relating to search terms when
using Google.  This doesn't happen using other search engines in IE6 or

I am using Firefox as my default browser (less crashes)...but of course one
need access to IE for things like Active X programs. How do I get my IE
shortcuts (which now open in Firefox) to open back in IE when necessary?

    At the end of the year, Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP SP2 will be
released.  However, there will be no Outlook Express 7 for the XP operating

Explorer.exe is using up to 99% of my CPU. I read that SP2 was suppose to
correct this problem. I did a complete restore last week, but the problem
still remains. The maker of my computer wants me to send it back and have a

The problem is on my wife's system, Win XP Home, SP2.  Internet connected to
a cable modem.  Recently, when she opens IE 6.xx, the internet connection is
dog slow.  When she types into the address bar, it takes at least 6 or 7
seconds for each letter to appear.
