Please tell me how to delete most or all of the items in IE Favorites at once

When I use the Continental Airlines web site and search for flights, it rolls
over to their "advanced search" page.  
Using that page, is no better.  I hit submit and it loops back to that page
as if i had never typed in anything.  Travelocity and Expidia work fine.

Early this week I noticed that I can't open more than one browser session
from my desktop icons. If I attempt to open a browser when one is already
open nothing happens. The second session does show in the task list however.

Win XP Home SP2, IE6, with latest updates for both.
When I run IE, my firewall says it keeps trying to
access outgoing localhost ports.
The port numbers start around 1900 and increase

Is deleting temporary internet files through the UI the only way to delete
those files? I am looking for a way to delete just some files to clear
entries in the index.dat file.
Or is it simply an all or nothing (which I am suspecting)?

I am A win98 user.  And downloaded a IE6.
When I try to run IE6, it always starts a MSN window daying: "Welcome MSN
Internet Access!" and thers is a [Next] button to continue internet access

I am using Windows XP Pro.
I have been using my hosts file to block questionable content on my home
computer, the prupose of this is mainly to protect my pre-teen son without
him knowing I'm doing it.  The problem I have found, however, is that the it

In IE when I click on Tools I do not have Manage Add ons or Pop up Blockers.  
I am runnign IE 6 and WinXP.  Any ideas?
