I disabled in "options->security->internet->Scripting of Java Applets"
and also in "options->advanced->Use Java 2...<applet> (requires
restart)". Then I restarted my PC, went to yahoo games and was able to
open applets. Gee, that's strange...

I have a machine that is running XP sp2 and IE 6.0.2900
My problem is that everytime a user tries to create a bookmark IE crashes.
This is not user specific. I have only bare essential third party programs
running on this machine.

Hi I am unable to gain access to both amazon.com & paypal.com, ie6 displays
"the page cannot be displayed". I recently installed norton internet security
and have tried configuring it to allow these sites but to no avail. I have
even unistalled norton but stil no luck! Any ideas ...

I was having problem with one of the ads on my site not showing up on
my laptop (which has Windows 2000); it shows up fine on my pc (which
has XP). So I went to do Windows update (which worked fine yesterday by
the way). And I get this error message:

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how to resolve the
following problem:
I am running Win98SE with IE6 and Netscape 7.2.  I recently had a
problem where I was no longer able to play movies, so in the course of

OK, new version of WindowsUpdate. Same problem as with OfficeUpdate.
It says that it cannot install the ActiveX and asks me to allow this
in the "Internet Explorer Information Bar", but that is not showing.
Further "*.microsoft.com" is in the "Trusted Zone" and all ActiveX

My content Advisor keeps resetting to the most restrictive settings each time
IE6 is launched.  As result I have to reset the settings everytime IE6 is
launched.
I have run Norton AntiVirus and a spyware app. with no negative results.

Hi, probably in the wrong place for this but........
My sister in law has a tiny computer (ha ha i know). She was getting loads
of dodgy pop ups etc and the hard drive eventually screwed up, i have
disconnected the old hard drive and reconnected a new one, loaded the

It would seem to me that with all of the geniuses in the world, someone
would have realized that it might be a good idea to allow a method to program
the way IE works when you first start it up.
I had this neat idea to have a command that would let you save the condition

I have a problem with the Favorites icons randomly disappearing.  This
is not the same problem as reported before, where icons are replaced by
the blue "e".  Sometimes my icons are correct, other times they refresh
with a generic page or file icon. I have tried moving icons to a new

When i type an invalid address (such as a mispelling) in the url bar of IE6
it then defaults to "bargain-flights.uk.com" how do i stop this?
