I earlier installed NetMeeting and now I use MSN Messenger.  (Both are
installed) I want to be able to select MSN Messenger to make an Internet
Call, but it only option I have is NetMeeting.

When I first got this computer I could hear background sounds and music
whenever I came to a website that had such sounds. Now, I can't hear those
sounds anymore except at very few websites. I know there has to be a setting
somewhere that got changed through gremlin activity or ...

I am trying to update a workstation using windows update. It comes to a
screen that says ActiveX is needed and to right click the "Information Bar"
directly below the Address Bar. The Information bar is nowhere to be found so
I cannot continue.

On a lot of sites (e bay, for instance), the small pictures that would
normally be displayed do not show up. Instead, there is the white box with
the red X. Larger pictures "seem" ok as far as I know. I think this started

IE6 opens to my home page but then if I click on any other webiste it hangs
and eventually I get the "not responding" message. I have scanned for virus
and also for spyware etc. (I have Spybot, Ad-Ware, Win Patrol, McAfee, and
also Free Ram XP pro - which I added after IE stopped ...

If IE6's opening page is different from about:blank, it crashes.
Anyhow, if I open a Windows Explorer and then send it to any page on
the internet, everything is fine; it is possible to continue surfing,
but once a new instance (or window) is initiated by a javascript, the

A family member has IE6 running on a Dell Inspiron 5150 with Win XP SP2. IE6
is able to sign on to insecure sites like www.microsoft.com with no problem.
However, it cannot connect to a secure site. If I type in www.gmail.com what
appears in the address bar is http:///?%20www ...

My son had given me an illegal copy of WXP Pro sometime back.  I used it
until I got my legal copy of WXP Home.  I last night "wacked" it and some
other other stuff kinda cleaning-up things.  This morning, no Outlook.
What do I do?  I have lots of receipts on there from ebay ...

I am trying to create a Kiosk machine, unfortunately I have not been very
successful.  Idealy I would like to find a way to make Kiosk mode persistent
however that does not look possible, as the 4 web sites that I am dealing
with always open in a new window.

ok,, here's a new one ,,,, I can connect to the internet but only once,, and
then I try to load another page,,, and the old page not available error......

I am using IE6 and Windows ME.  Lately when trying to view or print a PDF
document from a web site, the window will open with a little symbol in the
upper left corner.  This then changes to an "X" and I can't print or view
the document. Any reason why this is happening?
