Dear community friends,
In my browser (IE6),whenever I visit the Microsoft community pages I used to
click the sign in button  (java script) at the top to put questions etc., But
for the past one week If I click the sign in Button the browser shows that

I have Sun Java (the latest version) enabled in Internet Options, I have
no other virtual machine installed, and Java's proxy options are set to

I see that they released an IE6 SP1 on 9/21/05.  I am running 98SE and
already have an IE6 SP1 installed months ago.  Why are the calling it
SP1, when an SP1 has already been released?  I went to Windows update

I've tried all the solutions given in many posts about that and it didn't
work. So, I've tried those sites where my IE crashes and saw that it was when
trying to open Java. So, I thougt that maybe my Java VM was corrupted. I
reinstalled it and it solves the problem.

When I open IE it hangs on opening the page.  If I type in the URL, it just
hangs on opening the page.  I have restored all settings to default.  Other
users have no problem on the same computer/connection only my login.  Any

Weirdest things...  (and I thought I had sen it all <g>)
(1) I changed my default opening page in IE6 to google.com.  so, every time
I started IE6, it went there.  Until I had to reboot, that is.  After I

I shall appreciate it if someone could let me know how to re-enable the
ability to type in the name part of a domain and hit Ctrl+Enter for IE to
fill in "www." and ".com" in the address bar.
This functionality seems to have been lost on one PC here suddenly.
