XML Files Cannot Be Seen21 Oct 2005 19:00 GMT1
I am running Windows XP Professional and IE 6 with all service packs and
security patches installed with no faults when scanned with MBSA 2.0.  Yet
when I go to certain web sites where an XML file should appear, I get a blank
page and source is grayed in views.

Remember in the old days when due to memory leaks after working on the
computer for a while, applications became unstable and crashed? My current
problem reminds me of that.
When first opened my IE browser works fine. Since this is at work I always

When I click on the IE icon, IE launches.  At the top of IE window it shows
the name of my dafualt site (yahoo.com), but in the lower left hand corner of
the page it show an internet address of 1.0.0.0.0.   This does not happen
everytime I launch IE, but about every four time.  ...

When I access web pages words with an (') apostrophe are displayed wrong.  
they are displayed as can?t or nation?s rather than can't or nation's.  Any
help is appreciated.  This problem began a month or so back. Using IE6.0 in
Windows XP:updated version SP2.

In IE6 I select view > encoding and then the option Western
European(windows).  When I close and reopen IE the option has automatically
changed to Unicode(UTF-8).  I have changed it back to Western
European(windows) but it always reverts to Unicode when I close and reopen

I have got Anti-virus, spy and adware programs. After i ran all of those and
i deleted all adwares or spywares, but latter on ,those came out again and i
ran programs again and deleted again and again?????
How can i deleted those completely ?  (say goodbye to them)

I am in charge of updating a website and have been receiving complaints about
ie 6.0 automatically refreshing pages after about 3 minutes. The catch is
that there is no code in the page to automatically refresh. No javascript
settimeout or meta refresh tags..

any web page now, for some reason, will not show any Flash .swf files - -
just the normal placeholder with the tiny image in the upper left corner - -
I even re-installed Flash on my computer and, installing the IE plug-in and
IE still won't show them

and open from within IE 6 it takes about twice as long as from opening it

I always run the task manager, and notice that often times I am seeing
100% CPU use by IE6 (Windows XP Pro, SP2 with all updates).  It's
usually after having multiple copies/windows of IE open with multiple
websites.  I've tried updating Java, and other apps that might affect

We are customizing IE on our public computers so that the Print Preview
button shows on the taskbar, rather than the Print button.  The problem is
that we would like to change the Print Preview button to a printer type icon
similar to the Print button.
