I have Google as a home page. When I open IE for the first
time I get two "Google" windows trying to open. Why is
this and how do I correct it.

I recently had to reinstall windows xp secondary to hard drive failure.  I
am unise IE6 sp2.  I am no longer able to open pdf files in the browser.  I
am using adobe reader 7.0.  In fact on some sites, they won't open at all
even when I use "open target as...".

I used to be able to navigate my IE Favorites menu by clicking Alt A (to
open the menu) and then typing the first letter of the folder or URL I wanted
to navigate to. If it were a folder I was interested in, the menu would

almost every time i start ie6,it either doesn't start or goes to my homepage
and freezes.windows then locks up and i cannot do anything.to get the pc
running again i use a game disc (eg. aoe2 ) and the act of autoplaying the cd
unsticks the hang.i've disabled and enabled addons ...

Using IE 6:
On this page, when I click on login,  I can see the password box quickly
display and then disappear, and then an 401 Authorization Required page
appears.

I feel really dumb but I need help.  I need to disable my content advisor.  
Problem is, when I set the password along with my helpful hint, I didn't
write anything down and I don't have a clue how to disable it now.  It was so
meaningful at the time!!  Any one have a solution ...

I am running Internet Explorer 6.0, SP 2.  The browser freezes up & will not
load a new window's web address unless I irst choose STOP (on the browser) &
then hit ENTER on the keyboard.  Any ideas?  This started about two weeks
back, even though I have a secure firewall.

I have IE6 and when I use "Search", after entering my search criteria
and hitting Search, it comes back with an error - "the search box was
empty".  I then re-enter the search criteria and it works fine the
second time.  This started a couple of days ago.  What could be the

Some websites display the red x instead of pictures only on IE but not on my
Yahoo browser.  Also, my email in Outlook is distorted, where I can't see any

Last night I started getting pages that load very slow - about 3 minutes
compared to about 10 seconds normally.  It is happening on eBay with the

Can anyone tell me what is difference between the transfer rate of a
HTTP download using internet explorer vs FTP download ? Also why is it
that when I run a speed test from some sites I get 1.8Mb/s but when I
download something I get 345KB/s ? Is that my browser is running slower
