Can't surf from IE6 but can from Outlook18 Nov 2005 10:12 GMT1
I have an XP machine with IE6 and Outlook XP.  When I click on the desktop
icon for IE (or the start menu icon) IE opens but I get the unable to disply
page error.  I can surf the internet with no problems from Outlook.  I have
successfully released and renewed my IP, cleared ...

Everytime I try to open IE it tells me it encountered a problem and needs to
close.  Reinstalling didn't work.  The technical info says it has to do with
the sysig32.dll file.
Any ideas?

With Win 98 and the earlier version of IE6 we could use the following sytax
to run a file on the local computer from a web site.

Here's the problem.  Whenever I try to access *any* site from within
Internet Explorer I receive the error "Action Canceled.  Internet
Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page
might be temporarily unavailable..."  I am able to successfully ping

Lately when I download with IE, the file will get to 99% then I will
get the Internet Explorer has to close page then a Dr. Watson warning.

In FireFox this sample image show the background through the transparent
png. But IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.0530301-1519 shows a gray background.
Is this a known issue?  Is it just my browser?

In IE6, when I click an INTERNET shortcut button on my Quick Launch bar it
doesn't open in a new window.  Instead it activates a new button on my Task
Bar which I then have to click to open the window.
On the other hand, when I click a shortcut button on my Quick Launch bar to

Everytime I put my mouse cursor over a word in IE6 a small box appears to the
right of the cursor showing the word translated into spanish.  Does anyone
know how to turn this off?  It is unbeliveably annoying.
