I have a 2003 server with IE6 SP1 installed that generates a "The page
cannot be displayed" error for any web address. Our
network uses ISA for the proxy and has proxy setting in IE. I have verified
all proxy settings are correct. Other machines setup identically (Except for

When I use AUTO COMPLETE (ie web address box checked) & I start typing a web
address in address bar I get a drop down box underneath with other website  
possibilities listed,starting with the first letter of website address I am
entering (ie www.a...... & so on) Some of these ...

MSN is my home page and here lately it is messed up.  The advertisement at
the top right page is missing and all the indents at bulleted or numbered
list or messed up.  How in the world does a web page get messed up like
that?  I am running Windows XP SP2 with up-to-date Norton ...

Using IE 6 I cannot access www.ftb.ca.gov although it is up and everyone else
can get to it.  I have tried clearing cache, temp files, cookies, etc. and
nothing helps.  Finally a friend said try FireFox and then I can get to it.  
What in IE would cause me to get a Page Cannot be ...

My IE search option suddenly stopped working. When I attempt Search, I get
the message: "This program has performed an illegal operation and must close"
Appreciate any suggestions to repair it.

A clarification on my recent previous post about iSearch
toolbar in my IE browser.  If I rt-click the toolbars
themselves, al my options are greyed out and there are no

Hope someone can help me.  I am having a problem viewing IE6 windows when I
launch a new window from a IE6 window by right clicking on a link and chose
"open in new window"  What happens is the new window opens but I can not
bring the original window to the front so I can see it ...

When the IE browser opens up maximized the window is larger than my
window screen.  The window has to be minimized in orger to be able to
exit using the X in the upper right hand corner.
If the brower is opened minimized, it opens off center to the right

got the basic concept and looked into a few cookie files on my pc
there is a file called index.dat in the cookies folder that has record
groups of  'url' and 'cookie' record types,
which seem to correspond to the 'cookie' .txt files

The first time I click on the down arrow to get the drop down list of
recently viewed web addresses, it takes 30 seconds for the list to display.
From then on the response is normal. Any ideas what might be causing this?

If I type http://www.llj-test.com/index.php into the address bar of IE6 I
get a valid web page displayed. This tells that the server behind the web
pag is working OK and that my network has access to the internet. I can
press CRTL F5 and the page refreshes with no problems.

I have a webpage to search a database. When the results are returned
from the query, they are written to a temporary file so I can include
them as a javascript source file. On any subsequent query, the correct
recordset is written to the file, but the results on the page are not
