I Windows Xp SP2 and updated, IE6 SP2. When I first go onto the net and open

This problem crept up yesterday.
I am running WinXP SP2 and IE 6 SP2.
IE keeps hanging and goiing into "non  responding" mode. It appears to

Some pdf-document downloads block inctances of IE6.0 .
By "some", I mean some irresponsive sites.
Standalone Acrobat won't start thereafter too until IE is killed.

Several months ago (not sure exactly when), my browser started
