when i right click any picture and want to save it from the internet explorer , only i can save it as bmp format , even if the picture is gif or jpg format , so what is the corect thing to solve this problem please ?

I have no idea how or why this is occurring. Every image I try to right click and save wants to save as a .bmp file. I went to a web graphic site where I knew all the images were in either .gif or .jpg format, and right clicking on "save image as", everytime would bring up

Web images that I try to download defaults to bitmap. In other words, it used to be that whenever I would download an image (r/c, Save Picture as...), it would default to the image name and type as posted on the web, but now it defaults to "untitled" as the name and "bitmap" as ...

1} I cannot view source of any web page. I click view source - NOTHING happens. 2} When I right click to save picture as, it will only allow me to save as a .bmp named "untitled" or I can rename it but still only saves as .bmp.

My PC runs IE version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519. Sometimes I can download jpegs and other times IE downloads them as bmp files. This is not related to size, because I can download a NASA jpg size 4.2mb, which is bigger than the jpegs that can only be downloaded as BMP ...
