I followed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/EN-US/ and my ie6 can't be reinatlled as it says a newer version is on? I just followed the intruction to repair ie6 and the thing is impossible as i can't reintall it. IE6 is damaged so what do I do?

when I try to save an image from a web page, Internet Explorer immediately shuts down. Microsoft help suggested to desactivate complementary modules, what I did, but it didn't help. I use IE 6.0 with SP2, and my XP Pro is up to date.
