I tried to register as a forum member at www.eng-tips.com but I was never able to register. I noted that at the bottom left there is a message "Done, but with errors on page". I wonder if that is the root cause of not able to register. The detail of the message is:

When I download a file using explorer, my PC really slows down. CPU usage is typically > 75%, but mouse movement, keyboard etc. are sluggish. I am running XP Home on a 3500+ Athlon 64. 2.2GHz and 768MB RAM. Any ideas on how I can speed things up?

I'm probably the only person in the world who would want to do this, but is there any way to make the good old "Page Can not be displayed" error page come up in IE instead of redirecting to sea.search.msn.com/....? I've tried opening the search pane, clicking Change Preferences, ...

When I launch IE I get a full screen image, but when I open a second IE window, it's about 1/2 the size. I can drag it out, then when I exit from it the next one will be full size.. How do I get them all to be full size, all the time ???

CTRL D suddenly stopped working yesterday. I can't save links to my booksmarks anymore. Saving a lot of links yesterday and today. They are gone. CTRL works initself as CTRL N works.

I am trying to republish my Blog and "Help" tells me to go to Posting/Status and it will allow me to Republish. Status does not come up. What do I do to make it come up? Thanks

We are running winXP all updates on IE6sp2. Occasionally a computer's IE setting for Temporary Internet Files somehow gets set to 0-bytes (not set by any user) when it is typically set to 10-megs or so. Sometimes rebooting will reset that to the original 10-megs or sometimes ...
