where is IE7 newsgroup? turn off certificate check, how?15 Dec 2006 03:22 GMT2
I got the IE7 loaded and now I am getting all these certificate erros for
sites I go to constantly and have gone to for years.  It is not a "www"
address problem as suggested in IE help and certificate error help.
I saw the certificates and tell IE its ok, but every time I restart ...

I cannot download any files in IE6. Unlike most of the other users here
who get an error message of some sort when the download fails or hangs,
my computer appears to be downloading the file. I then quickly see a
shortcut appear on my desktop for the file that just got downloaded,
ie7 refuses to open website - blank page14 Dec 2006 18:31 GMT13
Trying to open www.stencil-maker.com - a known and trusted site.  My wife
(still on IE6) can open it, but I cannot - even with Phishing filters
disabled - ie restart and even system re-boot.
Suggestions appreciated.

just installed ie7. seems ok so far except when try to log onto a site
i get the following:
"file download - security warining" and it says "do you want to save
this file, or find a program online to open it? i don't want to save

I am sure this question has already been asked, but I have not yet
found a satisfactory answer myself. I hope that this may turn into a
discussion, as I would like to hear all views on the subject. I am

Hello I don't really know much about computers but this is my problem,
for a while now I have noticed my computer running a very high CPU
usage - like 99 or 100, and this I think is directly related to my use
of Internet Explorer. I opened Windows Task Manager and in the

Each time I load a new page, the cursor blinks twice in the first text
box, then something happens very briefly to the scrollbar, and then the
cursor disappears.  I can type all I want, but nothing will happen.  If
I hit Tab, it will go to the control just after the first text box.  ...

Every time (not every time but pretty much!) when I right-click on any text
on a Web page, a new IE window opens. If I close this new window and go back
to my original window and right-click again, a new IE window will open again
but, If i leave this new window open and go back ...

In IE 6 (XP) I have lost the horzontal menu bar.  The contents of the menu
bar (File, Edit, View,etc) appear in a drop down list next to links drop
down.  Under View it shows the toolbars, but there is no listing for Menu bar
to check.  How do I get the horizontal menu bar back?

Just installed Windows Media Player 11, cute but does no more play VCD files
with the .dat format.
Opening one with the player says:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. This can occur when another

I was happy w/IE6, downloaded IE7 what a horror (unable to access any web

uninstalled,re-installed (no change), uninstalled again! Now IE6 wouldn't

I tried IE7, didn't like it, (usual toolbar complaint). Uninstalled 7, 6
came back, everything's copasetic, or so I thought.
Before, when I Googled, a click on the results page would bring up a new
window, and another results page click would bring the new page up in
