Whenever I try to open a zip file in My Documents, Internet Explorer opens and its screen flashes on and off repeatedly. The only way to stop it is to shut off my computer. What's up with this?

I have checked my settings, and I have it set to 15 days..... All I get when i try to view history is history.ie5 next to a folder! Would you like a screenshot of this also....advise..... I still think a download of IE7 caused this to happen and I since got rid of

Input please, Weird things are happening to my computer and they all seem to have a common denominator: 1) I am getting pop-ups even tho pop-up blocker is set for on and high.

I’m running IE6 on Windows 98. I am still using dial-up so I often open new web pages that are accessed via a link on the current page in a new window. Then I don’t have to re-load the original page once I’ve finished looking at the new one.

I have recently read that if you choose an "Encoding" from the "View - > Encoding -> More" menu, it moves into the main menu list. Some how...and I don't know how...a character set has been moved in my IE6.

I've put a tick in the box "disconnect if connection may no longer be needed", but I still do not get prompted to disconnect when I close IE. This is on a PC running XP pro and IE6 Any ideas ?
