Sad person that I am I like IE6 to have file menu, icons and address bar
all on the same line with Google on the second.
This has worked for ages since I upgraded to 6 but over the last week or
so at random times when I fire up IE I have file menu, icons, address

In the last week my IE 6 has started opening new copies of itself and goes
logs itself into my email.  Usually triggered by me entering something into
a field in an open web page, like google etc.

I don't imagine there is any way to have BOTH version 6 and 7 on the
same machine, for web testing purposes?
I suppose I could install Windows XP on a different partition and dual-
boot the machine, but even that is a pain.

When I enter a web page from a favorites selection, I get logged in by my
password correctly and recognized even on a refresh.  But when I try to
change pages, I lose password recognition and get logged out. I cannot log
back on with my user name/password.  This occurs with IE7 ...

I have a brand new machine with IE7.  The toolbar is not there (the one that
has File, Edit, View, Favorites, etc at the top)
How can I restore this feature?

Issue : I work in IBM-Montreal so by law the OS and all apps have to
be French, and apps can later be changed to include English. I work in
the Software Distribution dept and we use a tool called Altiris which
we can only use through IE (page doesn't load properly in firefox).

I use IE6 on XP Home.  I clicked 'clear history' on the Internet Options,
General tab .  Yet, when I begin to type into the address bar, a series of
entries, all beginning with the first keystroke, drops down.  Where is this
list stored, and how can I delete it?

I always thought that Refresh (F5) went out to the internet to get the
latest version of a page. However, a simple experiment tells me that
isn't right: I have google.com open in another window, and when I
click Refresh, nothing changes, even though I've disconnected from the

IE6 hangs up after starting it for 5 minutes and then it starts to work. When
I start any new IE window, it also hangs up for the same time. When I start
it with other user, it works without problems.

Hi, i'm on IE6 and used to be able to play avi's, wmv's online on clicking
the link to it, the media player would fire up and play it.
At the moment I now get a dialogue box asking if I want to save it (no other

Just noticed this today but if you go to just about any site (including
www.msn.com), click a link or two, then clear cookies and try to click
another link, IE 6 hangs.  This does not occur with Firefox or IE 7 and does
not happen on my computer that did not get the latest MS ...
